Active/passive electronics for magnetic, piezo and hybrid configuration pickup system to enhance the natural sound of your instrument, build your own character

Active
Internal circuitry is designed to be neutral and transparent as much as possible to the originale instrument sound made at first by woods and pickups, active equalizer has a moderate but powerfull action, it is smooth and non invasive limiting some artifacts expecially at high end frequency boundary and mantain an undistorted and dynamics sound in the very deep bass range toward B string compared to commercial low cost electronics, mid action had been carefully designed to be centered in the most sensitive frequency spectrum with a balanced gain and optimum Q, overall gain can be controlled by an internal trimmer, low output impedance avoid premature high capacitive cable filtering, low noise is granted by high quality ICs and discrete transistor matched circuit

Passive
It is possible to request active/passive system to mantain a back compatibility to the native instrument sound, to switch in some musical context or to have a sort of reliability in case of hardware fault or battery death

Components
All circuits are supplied wired and made with high quality components, low noise low power low distortion operational amplifier, discrete class A input stage transistor matched circuit, custom made potentiometer mounted on pcb and were possibile power pole are used to easily screw pickup and/or to better do connections

Test
A complete test is done on all circuits before shipping using high quality bench instrumentation with pc remotized pass/fail tasks, a fully check includes power consuption, gain excursion, equalizer frequency response, harmonic distortion, ground noise, controls behaviour and final real audio signal test, a wiring diagram and specs sheet is present on all circuits

High performance class A low impedance active buffer with indipendent input circuitry to best couple passive magnetic or piezo pickup to your ampli without loss in gain or high tones, supplied in a ultrasmall 20x25x15mm enclousure, can be powered at 9V or 18V and it is avaiable in four different configuration

Supplied fully assembled, 3 way equalizer w/mid freq select switch, slap filter switch, optional headphone output and/or aux input, a complete setup from vintage to modern sound, requires a 130x28x32mm standard jazz bass control cavity

rechargeable system: preamp circuitry is powered by a AAA lithium ions 3.7V 1000mAh battery, an internal boost circuit rise total power supply allowing a good dynamic audio response, battery is charged from 5V USB via the supplied adapter jack, a status led indicates low bat or in charge condition

aux input: 1/8" aux input stereo jack is only avaiable in place of mid freq select switch, user can play bass along music from a line level source as mp3 reader, mixing console, soundcard etc

headphone output: headphone 1/8" output jack is only avaiable in place of slap switch, it features no jack in shutdown, soft start antibump circuit and is cabable to deliver 150mW output power to 16-32O load typical of high end headphone

OPTIONAL FEATURES
PIEZO INPUT: high impedance input circuitry, avaiable on all models in addition to magnetic input, optmized for single piezo pickup with dedicated gain trimmer and shaped tone for bright sound
PIEZO LEVEL TRIMMERING: designed for 4/5/6 saddle piezo pickup, each pickup can be indipendently adjusted by a level trimmer to better balance volume differences between strings, a dedicated global gain piezo trimmer is also present, a larger enclousure may be required
SLAP FILTER: special boost-scoop filter post equalizer enphasizes thumb-slap technique without altering global volume level
 
STAND ALONE MODULES
WAH-WAH STYLE SVF: special variable low pass filter board for incisive tone shaping controlled by a dual stacked pot, as you turn fcw the lower section more high will pass through resulting in a open sound, while turning fccw some high progressively will be cut with a steep roll off resulting in a deep sound, the upper section of the stacked pot add a resonance peaking at the point where the filter roll-off from a very little in its fccw position to a full boost in its fcw position typical of '70 funk/disco sound, setting the peaking to a good level and turning the frequency control back and forward a typical wah-wah effect will be eared, JST 4p cable included
HEADPHONE DRIVER: a tiny power amplifier board cabable to deliver 150mW of continuous output power to 16-32O load typical of high end headphone, features dc coupled for full range bass response, auto shutdown for power saving, soft start antibump system, avaiable in 1/8" and 1/4" output jack, JST 5p cable included
RECHARGING SYSTEM W/STATUS LED: internal circuitry on request may be powered by a 9v rechargeable battery, a status led indicates a conservative under voltage condition for extra usage, recharging is done by an adapter jack board with microprocessor circuit powered via 5V USB, B5 mini type cable included
